James King strives for client-focused, cost-effective solutions. His practice focuses on litigating and resolving disputes in business, construction, and employment law settings. His experience includes advising clients on potential legal exposure, representing clients in court, and pursuing settlement when it is in the best interests of the client.
James graduated from the UNC School of Law with honors in 2017. While in law school, he was a competing member of the National Moot Court Team and won awards for his brief writing and oral advocacy. During his third year of law school, James was a student-instructor for an enrichment class on oral arguments.
In addition to logging over 50 hours of pro bono legal services, James was also a certified student practitioner in the Consumer Financial Transactions Clinic where he represented clients in consumer finance litigation. He is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina.
James is a North Carolina native, originally from Durham. He graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina State University in 2013 with a degree in political science and an environmental sciences minor.
Outside of the office, he enjoys seeing concerts with friends, travelling and trying out new restaurants.
